Kiwanis is a worldwide service organization comprised of individuals who work together to improve their communities.
Kiwanis Clubs are always locally organized, and their projects are chosen locally. Kiwanis International is our “umbrella organization” and provides us with resources that help us help our community.
Service footprint: Service is at the heart of every Kiwanis Club, no matter where in the world it’s located. Members stage nearly 150,000 service projects and raise nearly US$107 million every year for communities, families and projects.
Kiwanis was formed in Detroit in 1915. There are now some 606,608 active members worldwide who belong to more than 8,400 clubs in 96 nations. Kiwanians represent nearly every culture on every continent, all seeking to improve people’s lives.
The name Kiwanis comes from a Native American phrase that can be roughly translated as “to express one’s self.” Click here to learn more
